Fast and furious
I went from a kayak to this boat and it has been amazing. So light weight but definitely stable in the water. Easy to paddle solo and lots of space for gear. Seat is comfortable and foot braces adjust quickly which is nice on longer paddles. I can carry it over one shoulder making portaging so easy.
Same great performance in a smaller package
My partner Veronica is petite. She hasn’t liked solo canoeing because she’s been blown around by even a light wind in every canoe I’ve put her in. She tried the 14.8 and suddenly, she had complete control. We were in open water with waves and wind, neither of which bothered her in the least. She was new to canoeing, but was easily able to steer the 14.8 and balance it. I weigh 220 lbs, yet the 14.8 will easily handle me without complaint, meaning it has lots of volume for your gear, too. I am always amazed at David Yost’s ability to make a shorter, more stable, seaworthy boat perform so well.
