We keep enjoying our Adirondack 12s

October 4, 2025

Over the last 20 or so years, we’ve paddled several Ontario and Quebec lakes and rivers. The Adirondack 12 is lightweight, stable and has a large enough cockpit for our canine companion. It’s also got storage compartments for food and folding chairs. The boat is so light that I can easily walk it to the launch, pick it up and hoist it on the roof rack. It’s also quite comfortable.

Nice paddling kayaks to take sailing

May 27, 2025

We are sailors on a 32 ft sailboat and were looking for a good paddling, light kayak that would fit on our sailboat. I have been doing some PT work at Swift, Georgian Bay and have admired the quality and beauty of the Swift boats. The Adirondack 12 would fit on our sailboats side deck so I had a test paddle at our Georgian Bay location. Large cockpit and stable but most importantly it paddled very well; it tracked well and had great glide. We found a really nice used one through Marketplace that has been paddled since 2004 that we purchased and then bought a new one from Swift. After taking them out on our sailboat and anchoring overnight, we had a chance to try them out. 34 pounds made it easy to get it up and down on the sailboat. They have been beautiful paddling kayaks that are perfect for our sailing, paddling lifestyle but I think those that want a lightweight, stable lake kayak would also appreciate this kayak. I am 5’11 and 220 pds.

Adventurers choice kayak is the Adirondack 12

February 3, 2022

From upstate NY to the FL keys, this kayak is perfect. Big cockpit and super stable for this previous canoe paddler. And it is fast and smooth, a helpful combination when getting bumped by a playful manatee, for a quick getaway. Responsive and very easy to turn. Great in lakes and rivers, and surprisingly good in choppy ocean bays. Perfect size for car transport. The seat is comfortable for 2-3 hours. We bought our boats from the folks at Collinsville Canoe and Kayak and felt all our questions were answered and we agreed this boat was best for us. And the prettiest boats on the water.
