The Saranac’s mid range length and rounded chines make it an excellent vessel for the adventurous day paddler or weekend tripper without sacrificing stability in the process.

My 2nd of 3 Swift Kayaks

October 17, 2024

Owning 3 Swift kayaks should be a testimony to my satisfaction with superior performance, quality and styling. We bought the Saranac 14 for my partner. She wanted something just a little shorter and the Saranac 14 was a perfect fit for her. She loved it from day one and maybe especially the color option she selected. Swift has a boat that will fit everyone.

Best Boat Ever!

December 4, 2022

My Saranac 14, carbon fusion, has served me well for 9 years. I am a very large woman and the Saranac has a small cockpit, but I can get in and out and find it very comfortable. The tracking, with or without the skeg lowered, is excellent. I take this boat on multi day wilderness camping trips and have room enough for all the gear.

This boat is easy to paddle and quite fast. It’s stable in wind, boat wakes and waves. Like any longer boat made for touring it does not turn on a dime, but it is very maneuverable.

At first, after my flat bottom rec boat, the Saranac seemed a little bit rocky, side to side. But very quickly I became accustomed to it and then it traveled solidly and flat.
