Great solo canoe

September 9, 2022

Needing a light canoe to carry, I purchased the 15′ Keewaydin solo canoe (carbon with carbon trim pkg). I love it! I can load and unload alone, carry it to the launch and portage with no difficulty. I tested a few models at the Algonquin location before purchasing and found the Keewaydin cut thru the water nicely and tracked the best for me. The only challenge I have is in medium to heavy winds, this light canoe can blow around a bit so I fill two 10 litre waterproof bags with water and put one at bow and stern of the canoe. Really helps with tracking in big wind. I have had the canoe a couple of years now, it’s in great shape. It has held up well even in the rocky Canadian Shield lakes and rivers. Highly recommend this model.
