Keewaydin 17 Combi
The lightweight Keewaydin 17 Combi operates as both a tandem and solo tripping canoe, allowing you to alter your setup depending on your paddling needs. With a centre seat in the balance point for quick and efficient high-volume solo tripping, and with tandem canoe seats for trips with a partner, you can outfit your equipment to suit your trip. A detachable yoke for the balance point makes portaging quick and easy. For paddlers who paddle with a third person from time to time or with kids, the 3rd seat in the Keewaydin 17 Combi offers the ability to change up the number of paddlers quickly and easily.

Perfect boat for family adventures
I had this boat custom-built as a family canoe for trips with my children, who are currently 7 and 5 (with a baby who’s not quite ready for tripping yet).
This is a Swift Keewaydin 17 Combi, made with a Basalt Innegra exterior, Kevlar Fusion interior, and beautiful Cherry Outers. I decided on the carbon tech package + a few extra goodies like multi-height centre seat, removable yoke and foot bars for the rear and centre seat positions.
The idea was to have an adjustable centre seat so I could solo paddle, while also keeping my wife and kids comfortable for longer trips. The bow slider seat is perfect for adjusting to fit the kids as they grow, so they can eventually take the bow position themselves, and there’s still plenty of room for all our gear.
As the kids grow into independent paddlers, we’ll also be bringing along our Swift Prospector 16 to join the adventures for a full family trip (3 kids, wife and myself).
I went all out with the carbon fibre interior, a multi-height centre seat, removable yoke, and both rear and centre foot bars—essentially giving me three boats in one: solo, tandem, and trio. It’s incredibly lightweight, making portaging a breeze, and on the water, it’s fast, stable, and an absolute joy to paddle. This is the boat I have wanted for years and am so proud and happy to finally call it mine!
The quality is outstanding. The craftsmanship is top-notch, and the boat turned out absolutely stunning.
I highly recommend this boat for any family looking for a versatile, do-it-all canoe. It is literally three (or more) canoes in one!
The perfect flat water canoe
A brilliant design that tracks well, moves quickly, has plenty of room, and can be paddled equally well solo, tandem, or with three paddlers. My fourth Swift canoe, I’ve loved all of them (Shearwater, Prospector 16, Keewaydin 15, and now the Keewaydin 17 Combi), but this is the most versatile of the four and probably my favourite boat for Ontario flat water. Having a Keewaydin 15 solo canoe, I bought this one to use primarily as a tandem/three-person canoe, but find it great for solo fly fishing too. Highly recommended.
