Prospector 13
This lightweight, stable solo canoe is the smaller partner to our wildly popular Prospector 14. This multi-purpose canoe for average sized and smaller paddlers is one that many solo paddlers have been asking for. If you prefer traditional paddling while kneeling with the boat heeled over, or sitting upright with your feet forward, the Prospector 13 can accommodate both paddling styles. A medium-volume hull with moderate width but ample tumblehome, it offers the performance and feel of a sleek high-efficiency design with a classic traditional look and style. Quick to turn and easy to control, you can take your Prospector 13 out for an afternoon of fishing or photography, or you can load it for days or weeks in the backcountry.

Prospector 13 , one amazing boat!!
I was planning a bucket list, Solo canoe trip, 200km across Algonquin Park with many portages (30km). After meeting with both Bill and Carmen, who were absolutely awesome to deal with, and test paddling a few boats at their test facility, I chose the Prospector 13. I am a smaller paddler and this boat fits my gear and I perfectly. Some of the smaller rivers and creeks that I paddled were tight, with back to back turns and the Prospector 13 turned incredibly easily, spinning on a dime. On flat water this boat is surprisingly quick for a 13 foot boat. While in moving water or rapids, the Prospector 13 is extremely maneuverable, a couple quick sculls and the boat glides across the surface sideways to avoid rocks or logs or tuck in an eddy. But, the best part of all was the fact that I could pick up the boat with one hand and flip it on to my shoulders and go, so very light weight!! I would like to thank Swift canoe for an incredible boat and the best customer service you could ask for.
